Male Infertility, Oxidative Stress and Antioxidants

چکیده

Within the male reproductive system, oxidative stress (OS) has been identified as prevailing etiology of infertility. The effects reactive oxygen species (ROS) on fertility depend dimensions, “modus operandi” ROS and oxido-reduction potential (ORP) tract. Hereupon, for an adequate response to OS, cells our body are endowed with a well-sophisticated system defense in order be protected. Various antioxidant enzymes small molecular free radical scavengers, maintain delicate balance between oxidants reductants (antioxidants), crucial cellular function fertility. Therapeutic use antioxidants is optimal coherent option terms mitigating OS improving semen parameters. Therefore, recognizing managing through either decreasing levels or by increasing force, appear requesting approach management However, clear defined attitude experts about clinical efficacy therapy still deprived. Prominently, such coenzyme Q10, vitamin C E, lycopene, carnitine, zinc selenium have found useful controlling production scavenging activities. In spite that, healthy lifestyle, without smoke alcohol, everyday exercise, reduction psychological quality well-designed meals, habits that can overturn

Oxidative stress and antioxidants in male infertility: a difficult balance

Infertility is one of the most stressful conditions amongst married couples. Male factor infertility is implicated in almost half of these cases. Recent advances in the field of reproductive medicine have focused the attention of many researchers to consider reactive oxygen species (ROS) as one of the mediators of infertility causing sperm dysfunction. Although, ROS is involved in many physiolo...

Role of oxidative stress and antioxidants in male infertility.

Oxygen toxicity is an inherent challenge to aerobic life, including spermatozoa, the cells responsible for propagation of the species. How this toxicity affects the spermatozoan in its interactions with the ovum is still unknown. An increase in oxidative damage to sperm membranes, proteins, and DNA is associated with alterations in signal transduction mechanisms that affect fertility. Recent ev...

Oxidative stress & male infertility.

The male factor is considered a major contributory factor to infertility. Apart from the conventional causes for male infertility such as varicocoele, cryptorchidism, infections, obstructive lesions, cystic fibrosis, trauma, and tumours, a new and important cause has been identified: oxidative stress. Oxidative stress is a result of the imbalance between reactive oxygen species (ROS) and antiox...

Male Infertility: The Effect of Natural Antioxidants and Phytocompounds on Seminal Oxidative Stress

Defective sperm function has been identified as the most common cause of infertility. The objective of this study was to review recent findings on the effects of various antioxidants on male fertility. High amounts of poly unsaturated fatty acid are found in the mammalian spermatozoa membranes, thereby making them susceptible to lipid peroxidation. Although, free radicals and reactive oxygen sp...
